FAQs

CHANGES TO YOUR ORDER

We require a MINIMUM of 48hrs notice to make any changes to your cake or date. Large or dietary cakes may need longer, so please get in touch ASAP to avoid disappointment.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS 

There will be a 10% charge for any refunds or cancellations that have been confirmed and paid. This covers our website fees and the time already spent with your order. Minimum of 48hrs notice needed. Postponements or date changes will not incur this charge.

 COLLECTION/DELIVERY INFO 

We offer Auckland wide delivery or collection from our Ponsonby Road store.
All cakes are securely boxed for minimal movement during transit.
If you'll be collecting your cake, it will need to travel fast and cool. Ideally in the front footwell with the aircon on, or in the boot, where it is snug – towels or clothing will be ideal to gently wedge it in.
Last collection time is strictly 4.30 pm. 


COURIER
We use a courier who specialises in delivering cakes and flowers. They take the utmost care in getting your
cake to you intact and on time. But, the occasional issue does happen and we will look at each issue on a
case by case basis. Ultimately won't be responsible for late or damaged cakes if you choose the courier
option.

 

WEDDING/TIERED CAKES
These can be collected or delivered to your event by us personally. Please see the above info for all collections.
**Unless we deliver your cake personally, we are not responsible for any damage caused once your cake has left our premises**

 

FRESH FLOWERS

Our flowers are grown semi organically and are spray free. Hence, they may contain some small bugs... these are very clean and healthy bugs, and we do our very best to remove them all, but some do sneak in past us! So if the idea of an unwanted guest on your cake isn't your thing, please don't choose the flower & macaron topping option.


STORAGE
Our cakes need to be stored out of direct sunlight and in a cool space or the fridge. If storing in the fridge, please bring the cake out and allow it to come up to room temperature for 1-2 hours before serving.


DESIGNS
We love to get photos and ideas of what you'd like for your special cake – so please feel free to email these through to orders@cakeandco.co.nz.
Other designers' cakes will be used as inspiration only, as we do not directly copy other cakes.
Each of our cakes is a little different, so even with our usual designs, they won't all be identical.
We don't make fondant covered cakes.


TOPPERS
We can have personalised toppers made especially for you. These take a minimum of 1 WEEK after we receive your deposit to get made and delivered. These range from $20 - $80. You are also welcome to supply your own and we carry a good selection of toppers and candles in store.


DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
We have a small kitchen where all of our cakes are made and decorated. We use nuts, eggs, gluten, dairy, and other allergens.
For special diets, please make sure you select the correct option when ordering and let us know in advance.
We take extra special care with all dietary requirements, but there is always a chance of cross contamination.

CLASSES
Our classes are for small groups and are very hands-on. Once you have booked and paid for your date, we are unable to refund if you can't attend. You are welcome to send someone else in your place (must be 15yrs or over) or we will try our best to fill your spot from the waiting list.


TROUBLESHOOTING
We try very hard to make each of our cakes perfect. Unfortunately, human error sometimes gets in the way!
If your cake isn't quite what you expected, please get in touch ASAP. We may need photos or the cake returned for any serious problems.
